more birthdays...
happy birthday to auntie sharon on the 21st. this year (and for many more to follow I should think) we will both be 29.
nothing compares to you
day 154 in the big brother household.
the housemates are in the garden. they are at the beach for the week. having been set a task of escaping, albeit temporarily, from the rigours of india and backpacking for a week, the housemates have been successful.
enough of that.
yes, a week at the beach. varkala. still in kerala. anyway, a beach is a beach is a beach, even in india. difficult to come up with many tales when we've done virtually nothing for 5 days.
we watched surya tv on saturday in the hope of seeing our tv appearance, but it seems it is now going out this coming weekend. courtney has been having an affair with her yoga teacher which must surely explain her absence twice a day at the scientific school of yoga.
and that's about it. we've swum in the sea, lay on the beach, read books, dodged the shawl seller mafia, eaten fresh fish and slept. no rickshaws and precious few curries. indian people appeared to be banned from the beach - the lifeguards seemed to chase them off if any ventured too close to the 3 swedish birds. fortunately i was allowed to stare at them as much as i could get away with.
from here it's back to cultural experiences designed to broaden our horizons, stretch the mind and justify an entire year off work somehow. which basically means look round a few more temples.
